What a wheel alignment does
Alignment sets all four wheels pointing in the right direction and sitting at the correct angle. It affects more than most drivers realize:
- Tire wear
- Vehicle handling
- Fuel efficiency
- Steering response
Even slight misalignment can cause uneven wear and shorten the life of your tires, which is an expensive problem to find out about late.
Signs your vehicle needs an alignment
Your car will usually tell you something is off. Watch for:
- Uneven or rapid tire wear
- The vehicle pulling to one side
- A crooked steering wheel when driving straight
- Vibration or a loose feel in the steering
- Recent suspension or steering work, or a hard hit on a pothole or curb
If you notice any of these, an alignment check is a good first step.
Get an alignment with every new set of tires
New tires are a real investment, and alignment is the best way to protect it. When you buy tires from us, we recommend adding an alignment so your new tires wear evenly, perform at their best and last as long as possible. You can read more about why in our blog post, Why You Should Get a Wheel Alignment with Every New Set of Tires.

How often should you get an alignment?
As a general guide, get an alignment every time you install new tires, and check it about once a year or every 12,000 to 15,000 miles. Check it sooner if you see any of the warning signs above.
Alignment can reveal other problems
While aligning a vehicle, technicians often spot worn suspension or steering parts. Catching those early can prevent bigger and more expensive repairs later. If your alignment points to a worn part, we can take care of suspension and steering repair at the same shop.
